In this VladTV Flashback from 2014, Quavo broke down how the group formed through his familial ties to Takeoff as his uncle though he pointed out that he isn't related to Offset. Interestingly enough, Offset recently spoke about not being related to either Quavo or the late Takeoff.
Instead, Offset was a classmate of Quavo's since the 6th grade which is where they cultivated their bond.
