Check out this new single titled “ Good Intentions ” by 24-year-old indigenous MC, Influsense . Its the first single off his Six Sense, in which Influsense invites his listeners first-hand into his lyrical ceremony. This song depicts the overwhelm we are faced with in our daily life and the choices we all must make to survive our existence. Track is produced by Ariano. As a youth, Influsense had the experience of living in Phoenix, AZ and on the reservations of Montana and New Mexico. He is currently living in Durango, CO. His mother is from the Salish Kootenai Flathead Tribe and his father is part Diné and Filipino. With a direct lineage to Hastiin Chʼil Haajiní (Chief Manuelito) of the Diné People, there is no question this young MC is destined for great things.   Beyoncé recently stopped in her hometown, Houston, for the Renaissance tour, and it didn’t come without surprises. The singer took time to perform the remix of “Savage,” with Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion joining her.  Beyoncé introduced Meg as the crowd in Houston went up for the “Savage” rapper. While performing, Meg could be heard yelling, “I love you Beyoncé !” News of this comes after it was reported that Megan Thee Stallion pulled out of the Global Citizen Festival in New York, which took place on the same day as Beyoncé’s show in Houston. I ask myself some iteration of this question on a regular basis. Why do I care? As a sports fan, this question haunts me.  Should I care? Why should I care?  Do I care? Do I know how to not care? Maybe this resonates with you, too. It is so much easier not to care. Why? Caring asks something of us. It means we put our feelings on the line. It means we will have emotional highs and despondent lows. Caring means we take both the good with the bad and yet, I've lived long enough to know life isn't fair. Caring is an equal opportunity endeavor. One could argue there are causes, people, and events worth caring about. Others, not so much. I don't disagree. Poverty, child abuse, a just immigration policy, the environment—all imminent, vital, real world problems, real time causes—each one worth caring about.
