Shooting at Atlanta Medical Facility Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Wounded

 

Authorities have captured the man they believe is behind the shooting at an Atlanta-area medical facility that left one dead and four others wounded.

Deion Patterson, 24, was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly opening fire in the waiting room on the 11th floor of the Northside Hospital medical facility. According to Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum, Patterson fled the scene in a stolen vehicle which was later ditched in parking deck.

Police say they were able to determine Patterson's identity using surveillance footage captured at Northside Hospital. 

Grady Memorial Hospital Chief Medical Officer Robert Jansen confirmed the four victims—all of whom are women, ages 25, 39, 56 and 71 with three of them in critical condition. A 39-year-old woman was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene.
