The year 2022 was quite an eventful year highlighted with a few new additions to the gospel music industry in Nigeria. While we felt it wasn’t as loaded as the previous, 2022 was full of hope and was a season where most artists had to do a lot of consolidated and set their focus aright. But amidst all that came se fresh sounds and talents that we can never forget in a hurry.  Overall, the year was a great precedent for the wonderful years that will come after it. In no particularly order, we present you 20 Nigerian gospel songs of 2022 that made the year an amazing one for gospel music in Nigeria.

1. Spirit Of Prophesy – Omo Baba

From nowhere came this radio hit and social media craze, “Omo Baba” slammed with a huge wave, bringing the industry an anthem that they would all unite under or should we say vibe to.

From radio to playlists and then also to social media, Spirit Of Prophesy had found a formula that worked, we hope to hear bigger tunes from these outstanding group.

2. Joe Praise – Come & See (Ft. Mercy Chinwo)

When two ambassadors of Praise collaborate, there’s bound to be huge sparks and that’s what this song powerfully brings. Joe Praise and Mercy Chinwo is a lovely combo, this Praise song will get you up, dancing and praising God everyday.

3. Limoblaze – Gold (Ft. Ada Ehi)

Afrogospel sensation Limoblaze represents his genre in everything and whenever he joins forces with Ada Ehi, it produces and unstoppable vibe. This song is still not off the air waves yet, stiring up movements, Tiktoks, reels and getting young people all exited is typical of Limo’s MO. That’s what happens whenever he drops something. 4. Moses Bliss – Daddy Wey Dey Pamper (Ft. Lyrical HI)

This right her is one of 2022’s highlights, when the chorus blasts through your speakers, you can’t help but sing along it’s lines. Moses Bliss’ vocal cry and get you to stop and pay attention. This song is a must listen and it’s lyrics are well written and delivered. Moses Bliss rounded up the year 2022 launching his music label Spotlite with some artists ready to go.

5. Sinach – Final Word

Renowned Worship artist never stops inspiring hearts world over with her voice and songs. This single takes you on a journey of worship with her signature sound. The recent ambassador of the commonwealth of Dominica released her boom titled after one of her songs “I Know Who I Am”.

6. GUC – Captured My Heart

Gospel singer GUC has a sound that calls people to God in reverence. In this 2022,  release the artists captivates listeners and worshippers in this Live recorded release.

7. Nathaniel Bassey – See What The Lord Has Done

This is no doubt one of the best songs of 2022. Kick starting that year, one of Nigeria’s renowned gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey released the song of testimony and worship, its one anthem that we remain in hearts for a very long time. Add this to your future evergreen gospel classics.

8. Gaise Baba – Elijah Level

Veteran artist Gaise Baba came through for the Afrogospel genre once again in his 2022 hit single “Elijah Level”. Gaise Baba is a man of the streets, his songs reach across to young people and stirs up quite the rave. This Afrogospel sensation uses his genre as an evangelical tool. Stream/Download:

9. Grace Lokwa – Kumama (Ft. Moses Bliss & Prinx Emmanuel)

One of the lovely highlights of that year is this new sound from this Congolese gospel singer Grace Lokwa and a few friends captured in a video singing in Acapella.

It started out as an Acapella, it blew up the gram and raved on other socials and later went on to become a major release hit with amazing featured.
It’s a fresh new take on a simple popular chorus and the combo features of Moses Bliss and Prinx Emmanuel add more spice to this well delivered meal.

10. Sumisola Agbebi & Lawrence Oyor – My Daddy My Daddy

Sumisola Agbebi’s arrival is one of the pleasant surprises of 2022, her amazing voice sprung forth a fresh sound for the  gospel music industry.
