Ice Spice is the New Face of Beyonce's Clothing Line

If you don’t know about Ice Spice by now, you’re being marked tardy. She’s a Bronx-native rapper who has been rising as the hip-hop world’s newest darling. And if you don’t believe us, maybe you’ll believe Beyoncé, who just made the 23-year-old one of the faces of her latest Ivy Park x Adidas campaign.

The collection, titled “Park Trail,” will include gender-neutral performance apparel: sequined jackets, faux fur coats, canvas tracksuits, performance tights, hoodies, sweaters, and sweatshirts in dark green, lime green, cream, orange, indigo, and camouflage print. The company released a statement, describing the line as a “trail-blazing expression of performance wear inspired by the resilience of the outdoors, the spirit of the streets, and the possibilities of the future.”

Beyonce’s interest in teaming up with Ice Spice makes complete sense — the rapper has been on the up and up, but this is just the beginning for the rising star. She had a true breakout moment at the end of the summer with the release of “Munch (Feelin’ U).” Ice Spice told the New York Times that after her song was released, she felt the shift immediately. “I remember the week ‘Munch’ came out, I had went to the mall, right?” she said. “And a bunch of kids started running up to me like, ‘Yo, are you the “Munch” girl?’ And like, taking pictures of me and recording me.”

The response makes sense — in New York City, rap is not just a genre of music, but an ecosystem. Ice Spice is a freshman in a highly esteemed class of New York rappers, whose legacy stretches from greats like DMX and Tupac to contemporary artists like Cardi B and A$AP Rocky. The starlet is set to release her first EP, “Like…?” this Friday.
