PHOTOS: Edgar Derby, Aaron Friend & The Enemies, and Leoncarlo at The Cobra Nashville

Artists from near and far came to The Cobra Nashville this past Tuesday night, showcasing their talents at a memorable NashLive! and Music City Movement collaboration — where community building was the order of the day.

Nashville locals Aaron Friend & The Enemies were joined from Denton, TX-based artists Edgar Derby and Leoncarlo on a musically diverse lineup that featured shades of folk, rock, pop, and even symphonic music. Edgar Derby started things off with his emotionally stirring alt-folk stylings — and was joined for a few tunes by Leoncarlo, whose gorgeous, lush violin tones add depth to any soundscape. Edgar would later join Leoncarlo for his ethereal closing set, described by those in attendance as a “spiritual experience” crafted by looping technology and the composer’s exquisite technical skill.

Aaron Friend & The Enemies represented Nashville well in the middle of this interstate showcase, delivering an energetic and cathartic full-band set packed with anthemic moments and introspective storytelling.

Through it all, real connections were made. Artistic integrity was of the utmost importance. Our community was strengthened. Can’t ask for much more than that from a Tuesday night in East Nashville, can we?
